Brian Cote and Ken Oliver established Sound Manufacturing Inc., a precision sheet metal fabricator, in 1984 to service customers in the industrial machine building industry, fabricating: guards, chassis, bases and various other machine parts. Sound quickly outgrow its original facility, housed in a small garage within a junk yard, and moved into a newly purchased 10,000 square foot facility. Over time Sound also successfully ventured into other markets, including, telecommunications, medical, computer storage, military, various industrial applications including machine components and housings, and cabinet markets, fabricating: racks, cabinets, brackets, chassis, enclosures, panels, and assemblies.
With success came continual growth, necessitating two more facility moves. In 2005, Sound moved to its current location in Old Saybrook, CT, occupying over 67,000 square feet of production space. We are a full service sheet metal fabricator, capable of providing high quality services throughout the fabrication process, including: design enhancement, CNC punching, laser cutting, press brake, welding, assembly, screen prints, and packaging.
Our steady growth and success is attributed to the heavy re-investment in the latest fabrication technologies, in the continuous learning and development of our employees, and our dedication to partner with our customers to ensure their success.
